*Weekly Check-in

Welcome to my weekly check-in where I post what I’ve been up to this past week.

Did I meet my writing target?

Well …

I’ve barely written a word in the past couple of weeks, as I currently have my MIL staying with me, and she shares my work space during the day, and likes to randomly talk to me, or if watching TV and laughs out loud at something, expects me to have paid attention so I can join in …. So, I’ve had to forego this for a few weeks until I get my space back and can focus a little better. So it might even be a couple more weeks, almost, before I can fully knuckle down once more.

Sucks a little, but at least I’m getting some family time with her.

As always, if you want to find out exactly what I’m writing, be sure to add Cornered to your Goodreads tbr.

And my Jenna Lyn Field target?

Well, this hasn’t been such a fail. Because whilst I can’t focus to WRITE when I have company, I CAN focus to draw, and so I’ve already begun designs for the second volume Advanced Colouring book.

On top of that, I spent last week creating all of the files for the first Advanced Colouring book, and uploaded them to the printer, received and approved the proof copy, and … Colour Me Funky – Advanced Colouring will be officially releasing on MONDAY!

\o/

Take a gander:

So, I’m very happy with this progress.

On the editing front?

Well, due to a postponement, I haven’t had any editing gigs since the beginning of August. However, I did get a last minute request from a new client, and that’s due to arrive today, so I’m pretty sure my break is about to be over.

What else happened this week?

Well, the house renovations are still ongoing and my house is still muchero upside down as a result. This is another reason I haven’t had much writing time, because I’ve had to make so many impromptu visits to B&Q for needed tools and pipework and paint and–gargh!–just about everything, I’ve reached a stage where I now hate the sight of the place. Seriously. But I’m truly seeing some end in sight for the room currently being done, after which I shall breathe a huge sigh of relief … until the next room reno begins.

Okay, so what’s everyone else been up to this week? Meet your goals? Talk to me.

*Weekly Check-in

Welcome to my weekly check-in where I post what I’ve been up to this past week. I actually missed writing last week’s post, as I went away on my hols with the fam last Friday and only got back just over a day ago. So, in essence, this week’s Weekly Check-In is actually for LAST WEEK’s accomplishments, as I rarely get my laptop out during family time. So …

Did I meet my writing target?

Yep. After recovering from the biggest saga of a sex scene ever, I thought I’d wouldn’t be able to continue for a while, but I did. I persevered and pushed through and added another couple of chapters to my WIP. \o/

As always, if you want to find out exactly what I’m writing, be sure to add Cornered to your Goodreads tbr.

And my Jenna Lyn Field target?

Yep, I’m very happy on this front. After diligently sketching and outlining and pushing through with design after design, I now have more than 2/3 of the designs required for the advanced colouring project I’m currently working on.

So, I’m happy with this progress, too.

On the editing front?

Yep, yep, all good, too, as I wrapped up the proofreading job and sent it back a couple of days ahead of schedule before my holidays began. Lordy, I actually sound like a I had a really productive week, eh?

What else happened this week?

Well, if we mean this week instead of last week (which is actually what this week’s post is about), then I went to Sunny Wales (mostly sunny, anyway), where the Internet connection is poor and the winds are strong, and the beaches long and beautiful, and I did lots of beach walking and experienced my first American diner visit, as well as got plenty of relaxation in to help me regenerate. Only trouble with so much relaxation, though, is the will to push back into work mode is weak. 😉

Okay, so what’s everyone else been up to this week? Meet your goals? Talk to me.

p.s. Keep your eyes open next week, as I’ll be sharing some news I’ve been keeping under my belt. ♥♥♥

*Weekly Check-in

Welcome to my weekly check-in where I post what I’ve been up to this past week.

Did I meet my writing target?

YES! I a) managed to wrap up my mahoosive chapter 22, and b) started in on chapter 23. I *had* hoped to have even more written, but I got stalled out with the distraction of waiting on beta feedback, and my bathroom is still being done, and now today, Mr B is home sick, so although I’ve slowed a bit, I still have tomorrow to get some words in (or this afternoon, Mr B’s sickness demands permitting).

As always, if you want to find out exactly what I’m writing, be sure to add Cornered to your Goodreads tbr.

And my Jenna Lyn Field target?

All good on this front, too.

Another 5 designs added to my advanced colouring project. I’m happy with that progress.

On the editing front?

Yep, yep, all good and on track. ☺

What else happened this week?

Well, I got my hair cut. That’s a pretty monumental occasion for an author, right? I mean, I left my house in the daytime and everything … 😛

Just kidding. Though, I do have a giveaway happening over on Facebook if you wanted to check it out. Otherwise, not much else to report.

*Weekly Check-in

Welcome to my weekly check-in where I post what I’ve been up to this past week.

Did I meet my writing target?

YES!!!!!!!

I not only met my word goal this week, but I wrote double that, and in the process, took some giant leaps in the scene I’m currently working on. And as I’m feeling MEGA accomplished in the writing department this week AND Cornered breached 70k, I do believe it calls for …

Muppet arms.

As always, if you want to find out exactly what I’m writing, be sure to add Cornered to your Goodreads tbr.

And my Jenna Lyn Field target?

All good on this front, too.

– Pink Hair, Blue Hair released on YESTERDAY, and it was a mighty fine day indeedy. Find out more HERE!

– I’ve added more designs to the advanced colouring book project I’ve been working on, and now have images ready for 7 pages.

So, I’m happy with this progress, too.

On the editing front?

I started on my new proofread, and as I suspected, based on the last story I proofread for this client, I’m already enjoying the job. So, yep, yep, all’s good on the editing front, too.

What else happened this week?

You mean, apart from all that? Well, I guess I could tell you that my house is upside down and Mr B has gutted the bathroom in order to redecorate from scratch and renovate–he even needed to replace the ceiling–but you probably don’t care that I shan’t get to shower for a few days and will be peeing in a bucket whilst the toilet is being switched over to the new one … right? 😉

Weekly Check-in*

Oooops, I missed posting this yesterday, sorry. Thanks to being away earlier this week until Wednesday, and the Hubster being off work, I totally got confused about what day of the week we were on. In fact, I can hardly believe we’re on Saturday already. It only feels like a Tuesday to me. Oh, well. Onwards.

Welcome to my weekly check-in where I post what I’ve been up to this past week.

Did I meet my writing target?

Well, when I went away, I didn’t take my laptop with me. However, I DID take a notebook and pen and jot down a few pages of scribble. A few pages of scribble usually requires much deciphering on my behalf. And on top of that, it’s an intimate scene, and those always require more careful treading and consideration, and hence can often take me three times as long to write as any other scene. I did start deciphering the notes yesterday, though, and I’ll be continuing to do so today, so I’m currently feeling optimistic about it.

As always, if you want to find out exactly what I’m writing, be sure to add Cornered to your Goodreads tbr.

And my Jenna Lyn Field target?

Not too bad. Although I didn’t have any plans for this week on the JLF front, because I’m leading up to the release of Pink Hair, Blue Hair on the 16th next week, I did feel inspired to try designing something a little different on the colouring book front, and ended up really happy with how that turned out. Hopefully, I’ll feel inspired again and get the chance to add more designs to that portfolio, and you never know, I might have an announcement to make for that project in the future, too.

On the editing front?

Well, a new job landed in for a proofread. I proofread one of this authors books last year and really enjoyed the read, and so I was looking forward to this one. And as expected, I’m already suckered in and on a roll with it, so a good week for the editing. I love when work gets to be combined with pleasure this way.

What else happened this week?

Um … nothing? Unless you count the fact that we had a whole new roof fitted on our house last weekend, and the rest of the house is upside down with renovations, and yesterday afternoon, Mr B started ripping the bathroom apart … if you don’t count those, then not a lot at all. 😉

What’s everyone else been up to this week? Meet you goals? Spill in the comments.
