Weekly Check-in

Howdy, and welcome to my weekly check-in where I post what I’ve been up to this past week, and what a great week it’s been.

So …

Did I meet my writing target?

I have 176 words of my weekly goal left to achieve, and as I’m writing today, I’ll have shot over that by the time I’m done. I’m especially pleased with my writing efforts this week, though, as I’ve headed into a scene I’ve been dreading because it delves into a territory I know absolutely zero about, but upon reading back what I have so far, I like how it’s coming along. However, the fact that I knew NOTHING about what my MC is experiencing–poor Dan–I’m definitely going to have to get some kind of validation for the scene from outside sources before I can fully call it a wrap. Fingers crossed, though, as I’ve enjoyed writing it as it stands. Also, Cornered eked over the 30K mark a couple of days ago, which means the MS is now around 1/3 complete, so excuse me whilst I pause to yell …

If you want to find out exactly what I’m writing, or you’re eager to find out what trouble I’m landing Danny in, be sure to add Cornered to your Goodreads tbr.

Okay, for my Jenna Lyn Field target?

Well, those uploaded files were approved by the printer. And then a copy was ordered for me to check, and I was WAY happier with the outcome. Which meant I could then produce that vlog I wanted to produce to reveal the cover. So then I figured I may as well just go and announce its release aaaaaalllll at the same time.

You’re welcome to read my Cover Reveal + Out Now post.

Or you’re welcome to watch the cranky YouTube vid I made announcing it, in which my pooch makes an unbidden appearance.

Aaaaaaannnnnnndd, if you want to show my ‘other me’ some love, you could also race over the either of the Amazon’s and grab yourself a copy of The Rabbit With Terrible Habits.

Thank you SO much to those of you who’ve already been and grabbed a copy. And a massive thank you to the lovely lady who shared this awesome pic when her son’s copy arrived:

On the editing front?

The last couple of days, I’ve gotten up super early with Mr B and delved into my story edit job before Boop has to get up for school. This has helped me to get through decent chunks of the work with little distraction, and so I have ONLY 5% LEFT TO READ before I can type up my notes and get it sent back. I’m super happy about this. Although my deadline is actually next week, I’ll be visiting family for Easter and so need it done prior to my prep for that commences. I’m very confident that will happen, so …

What else happened this week?

Actually, not a lot. I’ve been so tied up with editing and writing and book releasing, so even though I’d have liked to get some artwork squeezed in there somewhere, I just didn’t have the time. However, I DID take the day off on Tuesday, as my VEEEEEERRRRRRY old friend came to visit (we met when we were five; I was walking to my first day at a new school). She’s one of those friends I’ve known, like, forEVVEEEERRRR, and it doesn’t matter if it’s been a week or a bunch of years between seeing each other, there is never any awkwardness because everything always seems to fall right back into place. Such an awesome day, and I was blessed to have seen her.

So, a great week all round.

Oh! Before you go, though. I’m still looking for a few hosts for the Enticed Blog Tour in April. If you have a slot free on your blog between April 16th and APril 30th, please sign-up and support Ethan in the form below. And don’t worry if you’re a Holloway Pack virgin, as you can always sign up for a spotlight post. In the meantime, remember to add Enticed to your Goodreads tbr.

And I think that’s everything for this week. I *think*.

What’s everyone else been up to? Meet you goals? Tried something new?

Cheers for stopping by. ♥

  1. Dude…you got a LOT accomplished this week. After the inspiration you instilled in my brain last week, I too set a weekly goal word count wise. HIT IT! And, finished the WiP! Super rough draft, but hey…at least I wrote THE END.

    Have a great weekend!
