{Blog Tour} Laney McMann’s TORN!

Welcome to my post to support the release of Laney McMann’s TORN, the second in the Fire Born trilogy.

Please note: This is a young adult title. If you love fantasy or paranormal romance, then you’ll love this one, too.

Take a look, but stick around afterwards, because we also have a guest post from Ms McMann AND a giveaway!

Find Max.

That’s all Layla cares about. Not healing from the Fomore attack. Not finding answers to how she survived a fall that nearly killed her. Nothing will stop her. She will find him. She’ll even pair up with an overbearing Fallen Angel who’s hell bent on making everything harder than it needs to be if she has to.

 Protect Layla.

For Max, nothing else matters. Not the bruises covering his body. Not the pain radiating from his broken bones. Not even his hands tied behind his back. He will find a way to save Layla, and the Fomore will pay if they’ve hurt her.

 Every. Single. One of them.

In the second installment of The Fire Born trilogy, a new breed of villain looms—one Layla and Max will never suspect, and this killer has nothing to lose. Better yet, with Max and Layla’s deaths, victory is in the grip of the enemy.

Will Max and Layla find each other in time, or is it already too late for them both?

And here’s where I hand over the reins to the author herself with a Tens List I challenged her to write.

Hi Julie,

10 things you (the reader) might not know about gargoyles.

I have always been fascinated by all things history, especially when that history is stemmed by legends and myths. Gargoyles fall nicely into this category.

  1. You may or may not know that gargoyles are/were used for an actual function atop buildings. Their mouths are drain spouts to divert water from rooftops.

  1. Gargoyles, although thought of to have grotesque and monstrous faces, actually come in all shapes and sizes, from lion heads to depictions of monks.

  1. In ancient times, some believed that gargoyles came alive at night in order to protect towns and their people.

  1. Some churches are believed to use gargoyles to ward off evil spirits.

  1. Many civilizations used gargoyles as visual cues, their ornate and gruesome statures making clear statements to those who were illiterate.

  1. Gargoyles adorn some of the most beautiful buildings in the world, including the most famous, Notre Dame de Paris.

  1. It is widely believed that the first gargoyles came into existence around 600 AD.

  1. The word, ‘gargoyle’ means throat, coming from the late Latin word, gurgula.

  1. In Medieval folklore, ‘gargoyle’ derived from a fire breathing dragon who lived near the River Seine in Paris. The French called the monster, La Gargouille.

  1. I personally find gargoyles to be beautifully mysterious. 😉

Yeah, I’m not convinced #3 is that enticing, LOL.

With a passion for the supernatural and all things magical, Laney developed a voracious appetite for reading fantasy at a young age. A vivid imagination helped set the stage for creating her own worlds and placed her onto the writing path.

By the time she reached her teens, she’d accumulated notebooks full of poems, which led to short stories and finally novels. Young adult dark fantasy, paranormal romance, and mythology are among her favorite genres.

  1. I love finding new authors and books. I am definitely going to see if these books are on Audible. I don’t read much but I love audiobooks. Thank you Julie for participating in the giveaway and to the author for giving away these books. I love the covers and my 17 yr old daughter would love to it if I happen to win the actual books. She doesn’t do audiobooks or ebooks. She’s the type that loves the actual book. She says there’s nothing better than holding a book and smelling the pages. I don’t know about the smell of the pages but she loves books and won’t read it if it’s not an actual book.
