SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY #6 #sixsunday

Wheeee! Yet another week of 6 Sentence Sunday. Thank you so much to all those who keep coming back.

Last week, I introduced you to a Chapter 8 scene from my paranormal romance novel, Darkness & Light, where ‘something strange’ appeared to be happening to Jem’s body—whilst at the local department store. This week’s offering is a continuation of that scene. In fact, it’s Peter’s—Jem’s husband—response to her ‘unusual behaviour’, just after she asks the question: Did I do anything?

Hope you enjoy.

I cringed, waiting for him to tell me I’d pranced about the store with howls flying freely. In front of Saturday shoppers? Too much to bear.

“What do you mean, Jem, did you do anything?” The basket swung in an arc with his gesturing arm. “You bloody fell on your knees, closed your eyes, and sniffed the f*****g air like a bloodhound.”

Peter: Such a nice fellow. :)

Cheers for stopping by. Links to the other participants can be found HERE—you should check them out—or why not sign up and join in the fun yourself?

SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY #4 #sixsunday

As those of you who’ve visited will know, I initially brought you excerpts from my paranormal romance novel, Darkness & Light, and that I changed tactics last week and offered a taste of my free short story, Fated Encounter. Well, because I’m unable to resist, and because I simply ADORE Sean Holloway, here’s a little more from the man himself:

Five feet away, the redhead took one magazine after another off the shelves, blocking my view of the female my mind refused to let me walk away from.

All I wanted was a full-on glimpse of her eyes. Just one. I’d need no more than that to confirm her identity. The sapphire blues of the female in my dreams never left me even once my dreams came to a closure. If I could just see those, then … then I would know.

Cheers for stopping by. Links to the other participants can be found HERE—you should check them out—or why not sign up and join in the fun yourself? Please check in next week when I shall be reverting back to Darkness & Light excerpts.

Darkness & Light is available at the following outlets:

Barnes & Noble

SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY #3 #sixsunday

Yes, I’m back for another round. I’ve truly been bitten by the 6sentenceSunday bug.

Over the last couple weeks, the excerpts I’ve shared with you have been from my paranormal romance novel, Darkness & Light. Well, this week, I’m bringing you a little something from the other side of the coin. To celebrate its release on September 1st (wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!), my chosen 6 have been hand picked from my latest (free) short story and companion to Darkness & Light: Fated Encounter. Here you go, they’re all yours:

I’d initially heard tales from my grandfather of the female named Jem—tales told with scorn. Once Dad had taken over the telling of them, disdain had made way for reverence and awe. He’d watch me, his ever-intense gaze mining my responses, whilst he recounted the story of the werewolf called Sean, a werewolf who’d crossed a forbidden line—simply to be with his mate.

As a pup, I’d considered the stories ridiculous—the wolf’s reasoning weak.

That attitude altered with the arrival of my dreams.

Whilst my body arched toward the alluring scent of the blonde female, my mind ran through every reason it couldn’t be her.

Could this be about the elusive Sean from Darkness & Light, perchance? Guess you’d have to read the entire story to find out.

Cheers for stopping by. Links to the other participants can be found HERE—you should check them out—or why not sign up and join in the fun yourself?

Fated Encounter will be available September 1st for Kindle or E-reader.

COMING SOON: FATED ENCOUNTER!

A couple weeks ago, I had the idea to write a short story that I could give to my readers for free. I’m a sucker for writing little snippets of stuff that shows how events in my novels played out from a different perspective—especially as my 1st person PoV preference shows them through only one character’s eyes.

Anyhoo, I got to wondering … about the very first time Jem ‘thought’ she saw Sean in Darkness & Light, and I decided it might be fun to understand the encounter from Sean’s PoV.

Not only would I get to make it a little … um … ‘funner’ than the original, I’d get to work with the male I love working with, the male whose voice arrives as loud as a banshee wail in my ear.

So I wrote it.

Took me a few days (if you know me, you know I’m a slow typer), but I really liked what I ended up with.

And I was excited at the thought of sticking it up on my website as a free read for everyone—a way to say thanks to all those awesome people who have bought Darkness & Light and showed their support.

But that’s not the news.

The news is that I shared the story with my editor—not to sell (they don’t sell stories as short as this one), but just because she was interested. When it came back edited (I didn’t sulk at the red-pen, honest), and with a proposition, I was a little surprised … yet totally excited.

Yep, J. Taylor Publishing have offered to put Fated Encounter up as a free Kindle and Ebook read for folks to obtain, which means it got a cover and a blurb and it will have the potential to reach a much wider platform.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!

In case you didn’t get that, I’m excited.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

What’s more, I’ve been told we can aim for a September 1st release so readers won’t have to wait very long for it to be available.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

If you have a Kindle or E-reader, remember to look out for my announcement of its arrival. Just so you know, here’s what you should be looking out for (pssst, as this is a Jem & Sean tale, don’t forget to play spot the wolves):
